After the big overhaul a few months ago of Wordpress, the most popular blogging platform on the web, to version 2.5, parent company Automattic will be releasing the anticipated 2.7 version tomorrow night, though slightly behind schedule. Version 2.5 saw an incredible transformation for the robust blogging platform, both visually and structurally. 2.6 followed suit shortly after to resolve a number of lingering issues and improved performance. And now it seems like Automattic will be revamping the platform yet again, totally reworking the admininistrative panel for easier navigation and improved usability. According to their blog, the idea is to have everything within a click or two. Also, the dashboard is completely revamped, as witnessed by screenshots below, and icons are added to the navigation links, along with snapshots of different aspects of the blog (similar to how it is now but in a better visual presentation).
I’ll be upgrading as soon as the version is released and writing about my impressions as well, so stay tuned for that.
